Topspeed Going Green

Topspeed Going Green

If you read our recent Fleet News article you may have picked up on the fact that we recently took delivery of two new electric vehicles.

This is a first for Topspeed and we are delighted to unveil the new branded electric vehicles for you.  Do look out for them on the roads!

We asked Gillian Lockley, Managing Director at Topspeed to tell us about the new vans and she candidly told us “It is a very exciting time for Topspeed.  We were initially very nervous about moving into the all-electric Vito and we did have range anxiety, but these vans have already proven that we can do it, and we are just about to place an order for some more!”

You heard it first here!

The management team researched options before making the decision on the eVito vehicle and fits well with our fleet, which is majority Mercedes based.

One reason for introducing electric vehicles to the Topspeed fleet is the ability to cut annual running costs.  Typically, the eVito could save over £1800 with a combination of fuel bills and vehicle excise tax duty.  One of our Topspeed in-house mechanics has already undergone specialist training so that maintenance can be handled in our on-site workshop.

Safety was another key point of consideration and the eVito has been awarded the Euro NCAP Gold N1 safety rating, which includes Active Brake Assist.

A new charging point has been installed at the Topspeed Winsford offices and as the eVito vehicles can be charged up to 80% in 30 mins with the rapid DC charging, it means the range can be extended to just over 400 miles with one quick charge en-route.

Visitors to the Operations Hub are welcome to use the charging point, subject to availability.  Contact us ahead of your meeting to book a slot, which will be on a first come first serve basis!
