In the last year, Topspeed have made over 300 collections and deliveries in Scotland supporting diagnostic cancer scan work.
Lead Radiopharmaceutical Production Technologist contacted us to express their thanks “Thank you all for your excellent professional service over the last year while we have been assisting our client during their period of equipment replacement. Your excellent communication and fast responses were very appreciated especially when our client was constantly changing their requests due to patient numbers and other factors resulting in short notice additional requests and short notice cancellations. Your drivers were a credit to your company and always attended with a smile and banter. Please pass on my thanks and praise to them all”
The PET Radiopharmaceutical Production Unit at Gartnavel General Hospital and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary support a large percentage of Scotland’s PET scanning capacity. Their work ensures that residents in the Aberdeen and Highland regions can access local diagnostic cancer scans rather than having to travel to Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The 12-month project for Topspeed required regular collections from the hospitals and delivery to Beatson Institute of Cancer Research (BICR) and according to our client “on all of these occasions we have not been let down by Topspeed”
Commenting further they said “we fully appreciate the issues you have faced to ensure a service is maintained through COVID whilst protecting your venerable staff through shielding. In Glasgow, we perform approx. 60% of Scotland’s PET scanning requirements, through your efforts and ours we ensured that Aberdeen’s contribution of approx 10% of Scotland’s PET scanning capacity was maintained ensuring that approx. Over 1000 Aberdeen and Highland residents received their diagnostic cancer scan locally. If those patients had been referred to Glasgow and Edinburgh it would have overwhelmed both services as we are already having to operate under our scanning capacity due to social distancing measures and enhanced cleaning of the scanner and patient cubicles between each patient. We will continue to supply BICR with radiopharmaceutical needs for their cancer research on a weekly basis and look forward to continuing working with you all.”
Steve Clegg, CEO of Topspeed said “we are always delighted to receive positive feedback from our clients. Our Ops Team has been under a lot of pressure over the past few months with a significantly increased workload resulting from our involvement with the government’s response to the pandemic. So, it is very satisfying to hear that despite this we have continued to provide our regular clients with the highest level of service. Our Driver Liaison Manager will be passing your comments on to our drivers who I’m sure will be happy to hear that their efforts are appreciated.”
