Supporting Men’s Health at Work

Taylor - Topspeed

At Topspeed, we’re proud to be supporting the Men’s Health Matters campaign this June and July, a workplace initiative focused on encouraging earlier action, open conversations, and practical support around men’s health.

It’s important to note that we are not paying to be part of this campaign. We are simply making use of the free resources available to all organisations and individuals, because we believe they’re valuable, relevant, and worth sharing with our team.

This campaign is a timely reminder that health shouldn’t be something we only think about when problems become harder to deal with.

Too often, men push things to the side, carrying on, staying strong on the surface, and putting off check-ups or conversations that could make a real difference. The reality is, early action saves lives.

The facts speak for themselves:

  • Men develop cardiovascular disease 7–10 years earlier than women
  • Around 1 in 8 men in the UK will get prostate cancer
  • Suicide remains one of the leading causes of death in men under 50
  • Nearly half of men admit they skip regular health check-ups

As part of the campaign, colleagues have access to a range of free resources via the Thrive4Life website, including a keynote webinar interview with Ben Youngs, plus expert-led sessions covering heart health, cholesterol, blood pressure, prostate and testicular awareness, and mental wellbeing.

It’s all designed to make these conversations easier to have, and the information easier to act on, whether that’s in the workplace, at home, or with friends and family.

As Sarah Ginham-Clegg, Assurance & HR Director, says “Men’s health is not always spoken about openly enough, and campaigns like this help start conversations that can genuinely make a difference. If we can encourage people to pause, reflect and make use of the support available, that’s an important step.”

Taylor, Driver Relations Manager (pictured), added “If this campaign encourages someone to speak up, get checked or make a positive change, then it’s worthwhile.”

By supporting Men’s Health Matters, we’re hoping to encourage earlier conversations, greater awareness, and simple actions that can make a lasting difference.

Because sometimes, just talking about it is the most important first step.
