Ongoing Cost Reduction Programme Delivers Charging Savings at Topspeed

Topspeed e-Vehicles-750

At Topspeed, our drive for sustainability is matched by a commitment to efficiency. As part of our ongoing cost reduction programme, the team has achieved significant savings in the cost of charging our rapidly growing electric vehicle fleet.

Through proactive supplier negotiations, we have secured discounted charging rates that are already making a measurable difference. In addition, by specifying preferred charging points for drivers, we are ensuring the most cost-effective options are consistently used across the fleet.

This initiative is just one example of how we are working smarter as we continue to transition towards our goal of a fully electric fleet by 2027. With over 77% of our vans already electric, managing charging costs effectively is a vital part of keeping the business efficient, resilient, and ready for the future.

Speaking about the initiative, Managing Director Gillian Lockley said:

“Investing in electric vehicles is central to our sustainability strategy, but equally important is ensuring we run them as efficiently as possible. By reducing charging costs, we’re not only lowering our operational spend but also ensuring that our sustainability journey delivers real economic benefits alongside environmental ones.”

The cost reduction programme is an ongoing task, with further opportunities for savings already being explored. By combining sustainability with smart financial management, Topspeed is demonstrating how innovation and efficiency go hand in hand.
