Topspeed Proud to Support Another Cracking Trout Race!

Wincle Trout 2025 - Topspeed

It was another splashing success at this year’s Wincle Trout Race, held on Saturday 14th June — and not even the threatened storms could rain on this community favourite!

Despite forecasts that had most attending nervously eyeing the skies (and wondering whether to pack trail shoes or snorkels), the weather gods showed mercy. The sun broke through, spirits were high, and hundreds of runners once again braved the hilly, muddy trails of Wincle in what has become a much-loved local tradition.

Mud, medals, and lots of midges!

Topspeed was delighted to return as a sponsor, helping provide the race numbers, junior medals, and trophies. We’re always proud to back an event that blends fresh air, fierce running, and fish-related fun — and what a turnout it was!

From speedy juniors bounding across the fields to seasoned hill runners dodging cowpats with the grace of mountain goats, it was a truly uplifting day of competition and community.

The Macclesfield Harriers once again did an outstanding job organising the race — a huge thank you to them and to everyone who volunteered, marshalled, cheered, or just brought flapjacks.

“Just to say it was another very successful race and the weather gods were even with us, despite the forecast. Thanks once again very much for your sponsorship of the race numbers, junior medals and trophies — all very much appreciated.”  Alan Weeks, Wincle Trout Race Committee

From Peaks to Prizes

Whether runners took home a trophy, a trout, or just very muddy socks, the day was filled with smiles, stories, and a few sore quads. We especially loved hearing about the next generation of trailblazers collecting their well-earned medals — you’re the future of fell running (and possibly fish-catching).

As a company with firm roots in the Cheshire community, supporting events like this means a lot to us. It’s not just about the running — it’s about bringing people together, enjoying the incredible countryside we’re lucky to call home, and backing brilliant local traditions that make this area so special.

See you in 2026?

Congratulations to everyone who took part in this year’s race! We’re already looking forward to next year’s edition (and quietly hoping for the same weather luck)
