At Topspeed, supporting the health and wellbeing of our people remains a key priority. We’re pleased to share that our Accounting Manager Jo has recently completed her Mental Health First Aid course, becoming the fourth Mental Health First Aider within the business.
Jo joins Cherelle, Steven and Taylor, who are already trained in this important area, further strengthening the support available to colleagues across Topspeed.
Mental Health First Aid training helps people understand more about mental health, how it can affect individuals in different ways, and how to provide initial support to someone who may be struggling. The course also highlights the importance of listening without judgement, recognising when someone may need help, and guiding them towards further support where appropriate.
Reflecting on completing the course, Jo said; “I’m proud to have recently completed my Mental Health First Aid course. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about mental health, how it can affect people in different ways, and how to provide initial support to someone who may be struggling.”
She added “The course reinforced just how important it is to continue raising awareness of mental health. Looking after our mental wellbeing is just as important as looking after our physical health, and having open conversations can make a real difference.”
Having trained Mental Health First Aiders in the workplace provides employees with a confidential and approachable point of contact if they are finding things difficult. Sometimes, simply having someone willing to listen can be the first step towards getting the right support.
Jo continued “I believe every workplace should have someone that employees can turn to if they are finding things difficult. Sometimes, simply having someone who is willing to listen without judgement can be the first step towards getting the right support.”
With four Mental Health First Aiders now in place, Topspeed continues to build a supportive workplace culture where colleagues feel able to reach out, start conversations and access help when they need it.
Jo said “I’m proud to join the three colleagues already trained at Topspeed, bringing our total to four Mental Health First Aiders. Together, we’re committed to helping create a supportive workplace where everyone feels able to reach out when they need to.”
As Topspeed continues to grow its wellbeing support, this latest training is another positive step in ensuring mental health remains part of everyday conversations across the business.
