Stephen Clegg, CEO and founder of Topspeed and DGSA, and Darren Wynne, Transport Manager at Topspeed, attended the 7th European IRPA Congress, held in Liverpool from 1st to 5th June 2026. Taking place at the Liverpool Experience Campus, the event is recognised as the biggest radiation protection gathering in Europe and one of the largest in the world, bringing together experts, regulators and industry professionals from across the sector.
With around 1,100 delegates in attendance, the congress offered a valuable opportunity to connect with both new contacts and long-standing industry connections. Stephen described the event as extremely well organised and highly worthwhile, with Tuesday and Thursday proving to be especially busy for networking and conversation.
As well as spending time meeting delegates, Stephen also attended several of the conference sessions, including a well-attended talk from the Office for Nuclear Regulation, which drew an audience of around 200 people. It was particularly encouraging to hear Topspeed referenced during the session, reflecting the company’s strong reputation and visibility within the sector.
Events such as the European IRPA Congress are an important part of staying connected to the specialist industries Topspeed supports. Darren reflected on the value of the event, saying; “For me, it was really good to meet people who I deal with on a day-to-day basis but have never met.” By attending high-profile sector events like this, the team continues to strengthen relationships, build new opportunities and remain closely aligned with developments across the radiation protection and nuclear landscape.
