Topspeed is continuing its investment in sustainable transport solutions with the addition of Volkswagen’s all-electric ID Buzz vehicles to the fleet. Two of the innovative vans are already in service, with a further three on order for delivery later this year.
The VW ID Buzz offers a load capacity of up to 607kg, making it well-suited to a wide range of Topspeed’s specialist courier operations. Its impressive 170kW charge capacity also means shorter charging times and the ability to cover more miles between stops – a vital factor in ensuring efficiency and reliability for clients.
Historically, the Topspeed fleet has been predominately Mercedes, chosen for their practicality and robustness. The decision to introduce the ID Buzz reflects how advancements in electric vehicle technology are creating new opportunities to combine sustainability with high-performance logistics.
Gillian Lockley, Managing Director of Topspeed, commented:
“We’re really pleased to be expanding our fleet with the VW ID Buzz. These vehicles are not only a great fit for our operations, but they also reflect our commitment to making responsible choices for the future. As our business continues to develop, it’s important that we do so in a way that supports both our clients’ needs and the wider sustainability agenda. The ID Buzz delivers on both fronts – efficiency and environmental responsibility.”
The latest additions build on Topspeed’s ongoing sustainability initiatives, which include exploring alternative fuels, supporting pre-loved uniform schemes, and working with partners on projects that contribute to a cleaner, greener future.
