Topspeed Gears Up for ADR Training as Demand for Secure EX II Sprinter Soars

Topspeed Secure EX II Sprinter

Topspeed Couriers is revving up its capabilities with the arrival of a brand-new EX II Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, which joined the fleet early in 2025. Specifically designed for the secure transportation of explosives and other regulated goods, the vehicle is already driving strong demand, and Topspeed is preparing its drivers to meet it with an upcoming Class 1 ADR course this September.

A High-Security Performer Rolls In

The custom-built EX II Sprinter, developed by Fred Smith & Sons in West Bromwich, was added to the fleet earlier this year. Designed to carry over two tonnes, it includes side-loading door access for operational flexibility. Its safety and security credentials are reinforced with a 360-degree remote-access camera system, Thatcham-approved alarm, air-operated slam-locks, and additional deadlocks on cab doors.

The introduction of this vehicle has positioned Topspeed as a leader in high-security logistics, providing clients with unrivalled assurance when transporting sensitive consignments.

ADR Training: Powering Up Driver Expertise

To support growing demand for this specialist vehicle, the Topspeed Academy is running a Class 1 ADR training course early next month to increase the number of drivers qualified to transport dangerous goods, ensuring compliance, safety, and operational resilience as bookings for the EX II Sprinter increase.

What It Means for Clients and the Market

Combining state-of-the-art fleet investment with advanced driver training demonstrates Topspeed’s commitment to secure, sustainable, and client-focused logistics. For customers, it means peace of mind knowing their consignments, whether explosives, hazardous materials, or other high-security items, are in the hands of both specialist vehicles and expertly trained drivers.

As Managing Director Gillian Lockley notes, Topspeed doesn’t just deliver, it delivers safely, securely, and responsibly.
