Topspeed was appointed as the logistics provider for the new NHS project Our Future Health in 2022.
The Our Future Health research project was put together as a collaboration between the public, private and charity sectors with the aim to transform the prevention, detection, and treatment of health conditions such as dementia, cancer, diabetes, heart disease and stroke. The key goal is to create one of the most detailed pictures ever of people’s health, and as of writing, they are well on their way to having five million volunteers signed up to take part in the project across the UK.
Volunteers over the age of 18 are invited to sign up, give permission for access to medical records, complete a questionnaire and provide a blood sample via one of the many Our Future Health mobile hub bases situated around the UK. The data gathered will enable health professionals to analyse data for future detection, treatment, and prevention of many health issues.
Gillian Lockley, Managing Director at Topspeed commented “we were delighted to have been awarded this contract to support this forward-thinking health research project. Topspeed has been appointed as the logistics partner and our role will be to transport the time-sensitive samples from each of the mobile-hub bases to the testing laboratories safely”.
Topspeed drivers have been provided with specialist training to handle the safe transportation of medical samples.
