The Topspeed’s Secure Operations Team was formally launched in the Autumn of 2014 when we won a significant contract to supply secure transport services to a major UK Forensics Services Provider.
This Secure Operations Team is ring-fenced within the business, with all managers and drivers working in this team security cleared, many to SC level. Vehicles are allocated to this team, and personnel working on this contract use dedicated secure data bases that are strictly password controlled.
Originally the team was set up with one manager; Gillian Lockley and 15 drivers. Now marking six years the team has grown in size to accommodate new customer contracts, specifically from the Crown Commercial Services Framework agreement and private industry.
Just this month they won another significant Government contract for the movement of secure and confidential items, mainly documents, data files, hard drives and computer data storage. Turnover for this team has doubled since the first contract win and it now represents over 30% of the companies annual income.
Gillian is now Managing Director of Topspeed, but still holds an Operational Management responsibility for this group which has two Operational Managers; Jason Pennell and Hannah Sprey who act as day to day key account managers and work together to ensure all shipments are carried out to plan.
