Supporting the local community through the Pledge Partnership

Topspeed, through Commercial Director Dave Turner have been actively participating in both the recently formed Winsford and Macclesfield Pledge programmes sponsored by the Cheshire and Warrington Growth Hub.

The Pledge Partnership enables businesses to work together with educators to provide every young person living, studying or working in Cheshire and Warrington with everything they need to succeed in the world of work. With the opportunity to develop employability-related skills and personal qualities whilst in education, there is a choice of employment, training or further education when they leave school.

Employers can work directly with young people, teachers, parents, carers and youth workers to help the local community identify the employment opportunities available.

To date Topspeed has supported a local careers fair and have acted as a Dragons Den style mentor advising groups of school leavers on projects designed to raise charitable funds.

Next month Dave is working as an expert interviewer at St Danes School Northwich where school leavers are given advice and practice in preparing for job interviews.

We have also offered work experience opportunities to schools in the Winsford area, but this is a relatively new Pledge initiative.
