The Director and management of Topspeed are conscious of the impacts that the operation of vehicles and the transport of Dangerous Goods can have upon the environment and therefore wish to ensure that Topspeed complies with the international standard ISO 14001:2004 by developing and implementing a policy and objectives accounting for the legal requirements and the significant environmental aspects of its activities.
All staff are encouraged to follow a proactive approach ensuring minimization of environmental impact whilst maximizing recycling through waste management. This is achieved by staff awareness, assessment and preventive action.
We firmly believe that a sound environmental policy is synonymous with improved efficiency and therefore cost reduction. Our planning policies will include environmental training & monitoring of staff to be fully aware of our environmental objectives and targets.
Our practices and procedures are constantly re-evaluated in order to maintain full compliance with statutory requirements and Department of Transport standards. We believe this attitude engenders a culture of continual improvement by our staff for the reduction of waste and prevention of pollution.
- Objectives will be reviewed and set during annual Management Review Meetings. Our objectives for the current year are:
- Monitoring and training for fuel efficient driving
- Improve recycling of office and fleet consumables
- Proper disposal of 'lifed' assets (equipment & vehicles)
- Appropriate statutory training
